As Thomas Jefferson said ”a lawyer without books would be like a workman without tools.” Oddly enough, I doubt I’ll be reviewing any of the books I use for work on this site… but you never know.
As I stated in my first post, I have very specific taste in books. I like fantastical, fast-paced plots. I don’t do dramatic, skanky, overwritten or underdeveloped. If you read a book review and find that I’ve insulted your favorite book, I apologize – I’m just calling it how I see it.
Broadly speaking, the two most common genres you are likely to see me comment on are fantasy and young adult. You would probably be correct if you said that I like my books to take me as far away from reality as possible. Call it a character flaw.
“Do give books – religious or otherwise – for Christmas. They’re never fattening, seldom sinful, and permanently personal. ” - Lenore Hershey
Another love in my life is food, particularly desserts. My mom has the reputation of adding chocolate chips to anything that can possibly involve them, and I’m happy to report she passed that tendency on to me. I may periodically blog on other things, but I’m betting that this blog will revolve around books and chocolate. Not exactly unexplored territory, but that’s what makes me happy.
Hello! I just found your blog through Michelle’s, welcome!
Aside from books and reading, chocolate and desserts are my other main passions, so I adore the theme of your blog!
I look forward to reading your posts and recipes.

Emily, you sound like a kindred spirit! I think we’ll get along just fine.
Hello, I saw the post on your blog on My Books, My Life. I just started by blog as well. I’m looking forward to more recipes.
You’re in luck – my Dad’s birthday is coming up, so I’m going to be testing out some cake recipes over the next week or two!
